MUSC 1106 - Class Piano II
3 Credits Provides a sequential study of music fundamentals, music theory, historical context, and the skills to play intermediate and advanced piano repertoire. This course is designed for the student with some piano experience.

Major Content Areas Notation.Scale construction. Technique. Application/performance. Historical context.
Learning Outcomes Demonstrate the ability to read basic music notation. Demonstrate written knowledge of rudimentary music theory concepts to include scale construction, intervals, accidentals, chord construction, and meter. Demonstrate understanding of fundamental musical concepts through performance: voice or instrument (piano recorder, guitar, or other instrument). Develop an awareness for the historical context in which music (present and past) has been written.
