ART 2217 - Glass II
3 Credits Explores focused areas of various glass working processes and works on developing and refining techniques. Individualizes advanced projects in at least three skill areas covered in ART 2207 . Gallery and museum visits may be included in this course. Lab Fee. Course may be repeated for credit.

Major Content Areas Lecture, discussion and demonstrations: 60% Glass casting (open faced molds or lost wax molds); Kiln working involving slumping and/or fusing; Nontraditional stained glass; Flame working Studio work: 40%
Learning Outcomes Develop a profound understanding of glass properties Recognize the characteristics of hazardous wastes and its safe handling, storage, and disposal Verbalize an understanding of form and content in group critiques Present finished projects in appropriate manner Express personal interests or aesthetic concerns in assigned class work Research and test various glass techniques
