ART 2207 - Introduction to Glass
3 Credits Introduces glass working processes and techniques. An exploration of glass casting, stained glass, fusing and slumping flat glass, surface alteration, and flame work resulting in expressive forms. Gallery and museum visits may be included in this course. Lab fee.

Learning Outcomes Develop skills working with flat, kiln formed and flame worked glass Demonstrate an understanding of the properties and characteristics of hot and cold glass Recognize the characteristics of hazardous wastes and its safe handling, storage, and disposal Present finished glass work in a controlled environment Achieve an understanding of form and content and verbalizing this in group critiques and discussions Express personal interest and aesthetics in assigned class work
