Apply knowledge and skills in 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional media in the creation of technically competent works of art in a healthy and safe way.
Analyze works of art across time and geography in terms of materials and techniques used in their creation and their historical and cultural contexts.
Evaluate one’s own artwork and the artwork of others in studio critique using vocabulary relevant to media within program disciplines.
Utilize the elements of art and principles of design in the creation of works of art.
The Art Transfer Pathway Offers Students a Powerful Option
The opportunity to complete an Associate of Fine Arts degree with course credits that directly transfer to designated Art bachelor’s degree programs at Minnesota State Universities. The curriculum has been specifically designed so that students completing this pathway degree and transferring to one of the seven Minnesota State universities**enter the university with junior-year status. All courses in the Transfer Pathway associate degree will directly transfer and apply to the designated bachelor’s degree programs in a related field.
**Universities within the Minnesota State system include Bemidji State University; Metropolitan State University; Minnesota State University, Mankato; Minnesota State University, Moorhead; Southwest Minnesota State University; St. Cloud State University; and Winona State University.

* A portfolio may need to be submitted for transfer to BFA programs at four-year institutions.
Universities accepting the transfer pathway are only required to accept all credits if the entire associate of science is completed. If the degree is not completed in its entirety, universities will do a course by course evaluation.
