The Pre-Social Work Transfer Pathway A.S. ofers students a powerful option: the opportunity to complete an Associate of Science degree with course credits that directly transfer to designated Social Work bachelor’s degree programs at Minnesota State universities. The curriculum has been specifically designed so that students completing the pathway degree and transferring to one of the seven Minnesota State Universities* enter the university with junior-year status. All courses in the Transfer Pathway associate degree will directly transfer and apply to the designated bachelor’s degree programs in a related field.
The Pre-Social Work Pathway consists of the Required Pathway Curriculum and the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC), to bring your credit total to 60 credits.

To guarantee admission to a Minnesota State University’s designated bachelor’s program in your major, you must first meet the admitting institution’s minimum transfer GPA and then the admission to major GPA.
Universities accepting the transfer pathway are only required to accept all credits if the entire Associate of Science is completed. If the degree is not completed in its entirety, universities will do a course by course evaluation.
