Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate understanding of the roles music and society each contribute to formation of American popular music. Demonstrate understanding of course content through analysis of song lyrics and musical form both in-class and in written assignments. Demonstrate their understanding of an artist (personality, public persona, experience, time period, etc.) Respond critically to live music performance and recorded music examples. Analyze and synthesize the role of globalization andworld cultures, and their impact on the creation of domestic, regional, and global music cultures.
