ITC 2310 - Network Programmability and IT Infrastructure Automation
3 Credits Prepare for more complex next-generation networks and information technology infrastructure which is increasingly being configured, monitored, and managed using automation tools. This course helps students transition from traditional network and system administration to management over both API and legacy interfaces using Python scripting and automation tools and frameworks.
Pre-Requisites ITC 2530 , with a grade of C or better and ITC 2536

Learning Outcomes Utilize Python libraries such as requests, netmiko, and ncclient to write Python scripts which automate network and IT infrastructure using REST APIs, SSH, and NETCONF
Utilize automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Gluware, and Nautobot to automate network and IT infrastructure
Develop an awareness of programming languages
Write and document code using PEP guidelines, coding conventions, and best practices
Demonstrate proficiency in basic programming and Python
Create and document a computer program that uses a variety of internal and control structures for manipulating various data types
Explain the concept of infrastructure as code
Compare and contrast the use of REST APIs, SSH, and NETCONF for network automation
