GEOG 1160 - Physical Geography
4 Credits Emphasize the interactions of the biosphere, geological and climatic systems in the development of the pattern of regional environments including the study of spatial patterns and processes associated with the Earth’s natural systems. Investigate the interactions of geology, ecosystems and weather and how such interactions impact diverse populations around the world in terms of agriculture, economics and natural resources.

Learning Outcomes Evaluate the nature of the earth’s physical systems in the context of cultural, political and economic systems Present and examine the geographic patterns and character of the earth’s environmental systems including the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere Explain how humans have adapted to these basic systems and the subsequent impact of these systems on the human community Articulate problems and solutions presented in contemporary strategies relating to environmental and resource issues
