Learning Outcomes
Express forces as vectors and compute unit vectors for forces.

Draw accurate free body diagrams and calculate support reactions for static equilibrium.

Analyze forces in planar trusses using the method of joints and sections.

Analyze beam loading, both concentrated and distributed, to determine internal forces and moments, including generating shear and moment diagrams.

Calculate centroids, moments of inertia, and solve static equilibrium problems involving friction.
