Offers a student the opportunity to explore a focused studio topic. This is a hands-on class with topics varying each time the course is offered. This course may be repeated under different topics.
Major Content Areas Lectures, demonstrations, guest speakers, field-trips: 45% Planning session and writing of objectives and goals mutually agreed upon: 10% Weekly studio working time: 35% Critiques sessions of progress: 10%
Learning Outcomes Apply principles outlined in assignments Participate actively in class discussion, critique session, lectures, and demonstrations Apply the skills, concepts, principles, media and techniques given in assignments Develop a personal approach and process to the assignments in conjunction with the instructor Demonstrate an understanding of the assignments by presenting a portfolio Demonstrate ability to properly display final project(s) Recognize the characteristics of hazardous wastes and its safe handling, storage, and disposal
